Public IPTV & M3U Statistics 2026
A living first-party dataset covering curated M3U sources, discovered public endpoints, response states and rolling observed availability.
Dataset generated: Loading monitoring dataset…
Curated country, category and language M3U sources.
Unique endpoint URLs discovered in monitored public playlists.
Endpoints with at least one server-side availability check.
Endpoints returning a successful response to the latest check.
This page reads the current Phase 4 public summary. It starts with real measurements only after the monitoring service is deployed; no historical figures are fabricated before then.
Public IPTV and M3U dataset scope
The 2026 M3U.co.uk dataset begins with 62 curated external playlist sources organised by country, category and language. The monitor periodically downloads those M3U files, extracts supported public endpoint locations, deduplicates URLs and checks the oldest untested endpoints in rotating batches. This produces a repeatable technical dataset about source health, endpoint reachability and observed response conditions.
The population is therefore not every IPTV stream on the internet. It is the set discoverable through the sources currently accepted into the M3U.co.uk public directory. That scope matters when interpreting totals or country and protocol comparisons.
Current measured fields
- Curated playlist-source count and latest source response state.
- Unique endpoint count discovered from source playlists.
- Number of endpoints that have received at least one active check.
- Current online, restricted, rate-limited, offline, upstream-error and unreachable classifications.
- Observed response time for the latest check.
- 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day rolling availability when enough checks exist.
- Last successful check and latest observed outage time.
- Country-source and protocol-level 7-day aggregation.

Important limitations
The monitor runs from one server environment. CDN routing, DNS, ISP peering and broadcaster geo controls mean another viewer can legitimately receive a different result. Restricted responses are not counted as downtime in the observed-availability percentage because they can indicate policy rather than technical failure. Rate-limited responses are also retained separately.
Endpoint sampling cannot guarantee uninterrupted video. The monitor requests only enough data to establish a network response; it does not consume, record or retransmit a full programme. An HLS master manifest can be reachable even when a later segment fails, so results should be treated as endpoint-health evidence rather than a broadcast-quality measurement.
The report is designed to become more useful over time. Early 7-day and 30-day percentages will have fewer samples; the public tables display sample counts to make that visible.
Reuse and citation
When referring to M3U.co.uk statistics, include the report title, the dataset generation date shown at the top of the page, and a link to this report or the testing methodology. Do not present these figures as global IPTV market statistics.
