Research built from our own monitoring dataset
Phase 4 creates a first-party dataset rather than repeating generic IPTV statistics from third-party articles.
Reproducible methodology
Metrics are generated from the Phase 4 monitor. If the monitor has not run, the site says so rather than filling the page with estimates.
Read methodologyWhy original operational data matters
Searchers looking for M3U or IPTV statistics often encounter figures without a clear source, date or measurement method. M3U.co.uk’s research section takes a different approach: it publishes only values generated from the site’s own curated source catalogue and availability checks, and it exposes the date the public summary was generated.
The dataset is intentionally narrow. It describes endpoints discoverable from the public playlist sources in our directory and the responses observed by our monitor. It is not a census of all television streaming worldwide. That limitation makes the numbers more useful because the population and methodology are defined.
Future reports can build on this foundation with longer history, codec/resolution analysis and change-over-time research once sufficient measurements have accumulated.
